2024 taxes: you will be able to declare your income online from April 11

Those most impatient to immerse themselves in this spring ritual only have a few days to wait. The service of income statement online opens next week, Thursday April 11. Taxpayers will then have between six and eight weeks to connect to their particular space on the official website impots.gouv.fr and complete and then validate their information.

In detail, taxpayers from departments numbered 1 (Ain) to 19 (Corrèze) or abroad have until May 23 at midnight to complete this formality. Those from departments 20 (Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse) to 54 (Meurthe-et-Moselle) will benefit from an additional week until May 30.

Finally, residents of departments 55 (Meuse) to 976 (Mayotte) — therefore all departments of Île-de-France — will have until June 6 to meet their obligation. A traditional spread designed to avoid congestion on the platform impots.gouv.frmany taxpayers being procrastinators and waiting until the last day to complete their declaration.

A tax scale revalued by 4.8%

Taxpayers who still have the right to opt for the paper declaration (via form 2042), only have until Tuesday May 21 at the latest, regardless of the department of residence. The sending of pre-filled declarations by the tax authorities has already started and will last until the end of April. Please note, only taxpayers who do not have Internet access in their main residence or who do not feel able to complete these formalities online can theoretically use paper.

The 2024 declaration campaign will be marked by the revaluation of the income tax scale of 4.8%. In short, this means that if your income has increased by less than 4.8% in 2023you will ultimately pay less taxes.
