A blacklist of YouTube bloggers may be created in Russia – Kommersant

The first deputy chairman of the Public Chamber commission for the development of the information community and media, Alexander Malkevich, announced plans to create a blacklist of YouTube bloggers. According to him, this motivates “opinion leaders” to switch to Russian social networks.

“The Public Chamber is now, among other things, starting to work on a blacklist of bloggers working on the YouTube platform. We will publish it because these are people who deliberately do not work in Russian social networks, positioning themselves as Russian bloggers,” said Alexander Malkevich at the round table “Russian bloggers on extremist foreign platforms” (quoted by TASS).

They plan to devote the first part of the list to bloggers working for a children’s audience (many authors themselves are minors). “Here we have to figure out whether they run these channels or whether their parents or guardians do it for them,” added Alexey Malkevich.

According to a representative of the Public Chamber, this list should become the basis for taking measures against bloggers who ignore Russian platforms. “And here legislators must have their say, because if you don’t go to our platforms, it means you want to hide your income, either out of stupidity, or out of habit, or you are conducting enemy activities,” says Alexey Malkevich.

VK recently launched the “VK Video” mobile application, which, according to experts, is very similar to YouTube. Previously, the site was available only as a section on VKontakte. The development of the independent utility took several months, and 750 thousand people took part in its testing.

Will the mobile application be popular? – in the material “VK Video will be downloaded to smartphones”.
