Boisset. How the municipality allowed the reopening of the hairdressing salon
After a classic and successful start to her career, having obtained her CAP as a hairdresser in Saint-Étienne, her professional certificate in Saint-Anthème and her master’s certificate, also in Saint-Étienne, Josiane Croze worked in salons for almost ten years. Until she developed violent allergies to the products, which led her to stop working.
“It was an opportunity”
Nine years later, she discovered and trained in organic products, allowing her to resume her initial activity, but this time in hairdressing at home: “Organic allowed me to start again. Everything is 100% vegetable, organic and the colors are mineral. »
Sixteen years later and thousands of kilometers accumulated, Josiane Croze learned, through word of mouth, that the hair salon was going to close. “The road was getting tiring: I needed a foot on land. I heard that Boisset’s hairdresser was stopping, it was an opportunity. »
This was followed by a first contact, then a fruitful meeting with the municipality where it was finally decided, in consultation with elected officials, to put together a competitive application in the context of local commerce. “It was important for us to be able to save this business which helps keep our village alive,” says the mayor, André Poncet. The municipality therefore voluntarily took on the task of renovating the lounge and financing the equipment. “Without the help of the municipality, I would not be here,” says the hairdresser.
Established since October 13 under the JO Coupe Création brand, Josiane Croze can be pleased with a clientele which has “quickly rebuilt” and which turns out to be numerous, responding positively to this original offer.
