Exorbitant price controls continue in the second-hand car market. While gallery owners are inspected with the “6 months 6 thousand km” application, which has been extended until July 1, 2024 by the Ministry of Commerce, internet sales platforms are also under constant monitoring. Despite the announced rules; Fake sellers, who cause fluctuations in the second-hand car market, are running wild on internet sales platforms.
The advertisement with the phrase “from the owner” on a real estate and vehicle sales/rental platform that is dominant in the market, for which the Competition Board imposed an administrative fine of 40.1 million liras for violating the Law on the Protection of Competition, attracted attention. The seller came to the fore because he changed the price of his vehicle every day, not the price he wanted. It was seen that the price of the vehicle in the ad was changed almost every day. The price of the vehicle, which was asked for 615 thousand liras on January 17, changed 29 times in 23 days until February 9. During this period, a price of 810 thousand liras was even written for the vehicle, whose price remained constant for only a few days. Considering that “only the price change of the vehicle being followed is seen” on second-hand ad sites, the fact that there are thousands of examples like this on the platform with hundreds of thousands of adverts has been revealed.
People who do not really intend to sell their car, such actions cause fluctuations in the second-hand market and exorbitant prices. Precautions are needed against gallerists as well as real people who disrupt market stability. It is stated that speculation will be prevented by giving the right to change the price 1-2 times on sales platforms where new mileage car advertisements cannot be placed.
