CHP member Karakoz: Citizens are waiting for a blanket
Pointing out that there have been great increases in the prices of natural gas, wood, coal and stoves, which are among the most basic expense items of the winter months, since 2018, when the presidential government system was officially introduced, CHP Aydın Deputy Evrim Karakoz said that turning on the combi boiler is now a dream, and that many people who say “We will burn a stove” do not know what to do. He stated that he had no power to buy wood or coal.

According to the study of CHP’s Karakoz, 1 lira and 45 kuruş was paid for 1 cubic meter of natural gas in 2018. If there is no increase this year, 4 lira and 63 kuruş will be paid for 1 cubic meter of natural gas, an increase of 223 percent compared to 2018. The expenses of those who want to install a stove will increase further. The price of 1 ton of wood, which was 550 lira in 2018, increased by 681 percent to 4 thousand 300 lira today. The price of 1 ton of coal, which was 900 liras, increased by 844 percent to 8 thousand 550 liras, and the price of a household bucket coal stove increased by 622 percent from 450 liras to 3 thousand 250 liras.
Karakoz continued his words as follows: “The lowest pension and minimum wage are obvious. From now on, the only thing the citizen will do is try to stay warm under the blanket. “The new government system makes people burn stoves, not stoves.”
