AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with SpaceX founder Elon Musk in the USA in recent months.
Erdogan had called on Musk to establish Tesla’s 7th factory in Turkey.
According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk, who was searching for the new factory of the US electric car manufacturer Tesla, made his decision.
FACTORY INVESTMENT GOES TO INDIA
It was stated that Tesla is close to an agreement with India for a $2 billion factory investment.
The agreement is planned to be announced at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit to be held in January.
The news stated that Elon Musk evaluated the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, which are the hometowns of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, because they have well-established ecosystems for electric vehicles and exports.
IT MAY GET UP TO 15 BILLION DOLLARS
While Tesla plans to make a minimum investment of at least 2 billion dollars for its factory investment in India, it is stated that it can increase its auto parts purchases from the country to up to 15 billion dollars.
It was also said that the US automaker would try to produce some batteries in India to reduce costs.
