Pointing out that tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers have an important place in general exports, Çavuşoğlu said:

“1 dollar of every 4 dollars of exports from the Western Mediterranean came from 3 products grown in greenhouses established in the fertile lands of Antalya. 56.2 million dollars of revenue came from the export of tomatoes, peppers and cucumber-gherkins, which are the top 3 most exported vegetables.” “This corresponded to one quarter of the 217.9 million dollars of exports from Antalya, Burdur and Isparta provinces.”

THE MOST TOMATOES WERE SOLD TO UKRAINE, THE MOST PEPPERS SOLD TO GERMANY

Reminding that Antalya is a city that has a say in greenhouse production throughout the country, Çavuşoğlu stated that this situation is positively reflected in exports.

Stating that peppers were exported to 39 countries and tomatoes to 37 countries in January, Çavuşoğlu made the following evaluation:

“As of January, our biggest market for tomatoes is Ukraine. Our tomato exports to Ukraine increased by 20 percent compared to January last year and reached 4.5 million dollars. The country we exported the most pepper to was Germany, with a 21 percent increase and 4.5 million dollars “January figures are increasing compared to the same period last year.
