Export records were broken in that sector before the end of the year

According to the compilation of Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OİB) data, Turkey’s automotive industry made exports of 28 billion 664 million 621 thousand dollars in the January-October period.

Tow truck exports, one of the sub-groups of the automotive industry, increased by 36.72 percent in 10 months compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 billion 836 million 259 thousand dollars from 1 billion 343 million 107 thousand dollars.

The export of tractors in the January-October period exceeded 1 billion 761 million dollars in 2022, when the highest export was made, and was recorded as the highest figure in the history of the Republic.

THERE WAS A 107 PERCENT INCREASE

In the January-September period, tractor units were exported to 60 countries.

There was a 107 percent increase in sales to France, which ranks first in tractor trailer exports, in the January-October period compared to the same period last year. Exports to France, which reached 148 million 432 thousand dollars in the January-October period last year, were recorded as 307 million 703 thousand dollars in the same months this year.

There was a 25.7 percent increase in exports to Germany, which ranks second in tractor trailer exports, compared to the January-October period of last year. Exports to Germany increased from 225 million 19 thousand dollars to 282 million 942 thousand dollars.

Exports of 212 million 836 thousand dollars were made to Poland, which ranks third in exports, in the January-October period of this year, with an increase of 23.6 percent compared to the same months of the previous year.

In the January-October period, tractor trailer exports to Spain, which ranks fourth, reached 174 million 929 thousand dollars from 130 million 880 thousand dollars, with an increase of 33.6 percent.

There was a 128.3 percent increase in foreign sales to Belgium, which ranks 5th among the countries with the most exports.

It was recorded that 169 million 394 thousand dollars of exports were made to Belgium, where exports of 74 million 191 thousand dollars were made in the January-October period last year, in the same months of this year.

In January-October 2023, compared to the same period last year, Italy ranked 6th in tractor exports with a 40.25 percent increase and 163 million 659 thousand dollars, the United Kingdom ranked 7th with a 21 percent decrease and 77 million 364 thousand dollars, and Slovenia ranked 57.3 percent. The Netherlands ranked 8th with an increase of 65 million 695 thousand dollars, the Netherlands ranked 9th with an increase of 36.8 percent and 56 million 416 thousand dollars, and Portugal ranked 10th with an increase of 36 percent and 50 million 318 thousand dollars.
