ROME – A discount for incomes up to 15 thousand euros is added to the refund of the Irpef exemption of up to 10 thousand euros. The news filters from Palazzo Chigi: sources close to the dossier explain that the minister Giancarlo Giorgetti and the deputy minister Maurizio Leo, in close contact with the minister Francesco Lollobrigidaare preparing a government amendment on the Irpef issue.
A rule which provides, in addition to the exemption to exempt agricultural and land incomes up to 10,000 euros from payment, also a 50% reduction in the amount to be paid for incomes between 10,000 and 15,000 euros. However, the reduction and exemption will only apply “to professional agricultural entrepreneurs and direct farmers individually or in simple companies”.
The same sources underline how it is «a demonstration of the maximum commitment of the Meloni government and the closeness to the farmers in these 16 months», and which certifies the achievement of the agreement within the majority, «which is due to joint work of the Ministers Giorgetti, Lollobrigida and Ciriani and of the deputy minister Leo, who did their utmost to find the resources necessary to cover the costs of the measure”.
The cancellation of the Irpef exemption, a relief that has been in force for several years, is among the demands of the farmers, who took to the streets with tractors. In the previous days, however, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had made it known that she considered it “an unfair measure”, which “had especially favored large entrepreneurs and companies with high business volumes”. This is why it is now being reintroduced again, with an amendment to the Milleproroghe, but only for the lowest incomes.
