Highest daily closing of all time: Borsa Istanbul finished the day with records

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index completed the day at 8,949.79 points with a 1.21 percent gain in value, achieving the highest daily closing of all time, and broke its highest level record to 8,990.37 points.

While the BIST 100 index increased by 106.78 points compared to the previous closing, the total transaction volume was 120.9 billion lira.

The most profitable sector was food and beverage

The banking index gained 0.12 percent and the holding index gained 1.73 percent.

Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was food and beverage with 3.32 percent, and the only decrease was insurance with 5.10 percent.

Analysts stated that the signals that economic activity in the USA continues to remain strong continue to remain warm, and this situation caused Fed officials to be cautious in their statements.

The reflection of monetary frequency was stronger than expected

On the other hand, the new Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), Fatih Karahan, stated in his first “Inflation Report” meeting that the reflection of monetary tightness on pricing behavior was stronger than they anticipated.

Stating that the end-of-year inflation forecasts for 2024, 2025 and 2026 are maintained as in the previous report, Karahan noted that the end-of-2024 forecast is 36 percent and the end-of-2025 forecast is 14 percent.

Stating that industrial production in the country and inflation in Germany will come to the fore tomorrow, analysts noted that technically, 8,960 and 9,000 points in the BIST 100 index are in a resistance position, while 8,750 and 8,620 levels are in a support position.
