The test firing carried out today with Turkey’s first air-to-surface supersonic missile, UHA-230, developed nationally by Roketsan, was successfully completed.

Bayraktar AKINCI took off from AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdağ’s Çorlu district and headed to Sinop to conduct a long-range shooting test.

The KKS/ANS guided UAV-230 missile, fired by Bayraktar AKINCI from the Sinop Firing Area, hit the long-distance point on the Black Sea with full accuracy.

It will be the most effective combat platform in its class

During the test activity carried out on February 24, Bayraktar AKINCI C remained in the air for more than 1 hour. Aerodynamic parameter steps were successfully tested during the flight. Bayraktar AKINCI C will be the most effective and capable combat platform in its class with a total power of 1700 HP, including 2 X 850 HP. Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, which made its first flight on December 6, 2019, entered the inventory on August 29, 2021. Recently, the 2X450 HP Bayraktar AKINCI A and the 2X750 HP Bayraktar AKINCI B have started to enter the inventory of friendly and allied countries, especially Azerbaijan, as well as Turkish security forces.

The first flight of Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, which entered Azerbaijan’s inventory, on February 9, was watched together by Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev and Baykar Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk Bayraktar. The export and cooperation agreement signed with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last year was the largest single export agreement made by the Turkish defense and aerospace industry in the history of the Republic.

Within the scope of the test carried out on February 22, Bayraktar AKINCI successfully destroyed the Albatros İDA sailing on the sea using the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Targeting System, developed nationally by Aselsan.

Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA left behind another important milestone in Turkish aviation history by successfully completing 40 thousand flight hours.

Bayraktar AKINCI, who holds the national aviation altitude record with 45 thousand 118 feet, went to Baku in 2023 by flying through 3 countries. For this flight, TİHA took off from Tekirdağ-Çorlu and covered Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan from one end to the other. Additionally, it took off from Batman and successfully hit targets in Izmir within the scope of the Ephesus Exercise in 2022.

Baykar, which has carried out all its projects with its own resources since the beginning, has obtained 83 percent of all its income from exports since the beginning of the UAV R&D process in 2003. According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly in 2021 and 2022, it became the export leader of the defense and aviation industry. Baykar, which was announced as the export champion of the sector in 2023 by the Presidency of Defense Industries, achieved exports of 1.8 billion dollars last year. Obtaining more than 90 percent of its revenues from exports in recent years, Baykar alone made 1/3 of the exports in the defense and aerospace sector in 2023. Export agreements have been signed with 34 countries, 33 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 SİHA, and 9 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA so far.
