Loire.  Food sovereignty defended by the Peasant Confederation

“The agricultural show in Paris is an important media event to talk about agriculture and food. But this showcase is only partial and biased, because it does not reflect the realities of our farms and our territories,” affirms the Peasant Confederation which is organizing the 2024 edition of the Farm Show.

By opening the doors of hundreds of farms throughout France, the Conf’ intends to present “what peasant agriculture is” and to discover the reality of its professions. This year, the Farm Show will notably address the issue of food sovereignty. Subject which will be developed at the Déplaude estate in TartarasThursday, in the presence of students from the Montravel horticultural high school in Villars.

A program linked to the agricultural conflict

On the program: discussions with Anne and Pierre-André Déplaude who have modified their production to adapt to climate change, moving from dairy production to winemaking activity ; the testimonies of Philippe Chorier and Stéphane Rouvès who started their activity, one as an open-air pig breeder, the other as a peasant baker and finally, the testimony of Georges Gunther who will speak on social security for food. A program directly linked to the demands of the Peasant Confederation during the #angryfarmers movement.
