Meloni maneuver, 1000 amendments ready from the opposition

Tomorrow at 6pm the deadline for the presentation of the texts in the Budget Commission at Palazzo Madama expires: as far as we can see, the opposition groups, starting from Pd, M5s and Avs, are still working to complete the drafting of their amendments, which could arrive to a thousand: several hundred are expected for each group. The majority, however, in recent days has made it known that it should not propose texts, awaiting a possible major amendment by the government during the process of the provision in the Commission which could review some points, starting from that on pensions, with the Article 33 which has been contested especially by the medical profession because it would reduce the monthly allowance for some sections of public administration workers.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is currently working on an alternative maneuver to that of the government: Elly Schlein and her followers met today during the assembly of the Dem parliamentary groups. “We are in a meeting to collect ideas for this alternative maneuver that we will present to the national leadership on Wednesday,” explained the Dem secretary during a break in the work. «The government’s maneuver cuts pensions and reserves nothing for the right to education or public healthcare. For our part, we are aiming for the highest priorities: healthcare, schools, pensions, wages and industrial policies that accompany ecological and digital conversion”, adds Schlein who then underlines, regarding the Meloni government’s budget law: “Of course, it takes talent to make a move criticized by unions and businesses. Our amendments to the maneuver will be linked to these proposals. The dialogue with the other oppositions is continuing on this and I am sure that we will find forms of collaboration.”
