Metropolis of Lyon. Four Rhône restaurants ranked among the best in the world

Find a restaurant, leave a rave or very critical review, today you just need to take out your phone to access thousands of gastronomic information. If the Michelin guide or the Gault & Millau remain references, the La Liste website, The world’s best restaurant selection (The best gastronomic selection in the world) has established itself since 2015 as the reference digital guide.
Every year, it publishes its – highly anticipated – list of the 1,000 best restaurants in the world. Here are the four establishments in the Rhône which appear in the 2024 edition of The list.
Four Rhône restaurants stand out
France places 106 restaurants on the 2024 List of the best in the world. In first place, tied with a score of 99.5 out of 100, we find Guy Savoy in Paris and La vague d’or- Le Cheval Blanc, located in Saint-Tropez. The Rhône department is doing well with four classified restaurants.
➤ Mother Brazier, Lyon 1st
Two stars in the Michelin guide and Mathieu Viannay behind the stove, the restaurant La Mère Brazier, located in the 1st district of Lyon, has been praised once again. The List ranks it in 5th place with a score of 97.50 out of 100. One point more than in 2023.
➤ Paul Bocuse- Auberge du Pont de Collonges
Emblem of Lyonnaise gastronomy, it is hard to imagine a list of the best restaurants in the world without the name of Paul Bocuse. The Auberge du Pont de Collonges climbs to 11th place in the ranking with 94.50 points out of 100, the same score as last year.
Great reward for this cuisine led by chefs Gilles Reinhardt (MOF 2004, executive chef) present since 1995, Olivier Couvin (MOF 2015) at the Auberge since 2001, Benoît Charvet, executive pastry chef, world champion of frozen desserts in 2018 , and pastry chef Frédéric Truchot, who has been in the house for 10 years. Enough to celebrate with our heads held high, in 2024, the restaurant’s hundred years.
➤ The Ninth Art, Lyon 6th
Le Progrès had already told you in its guide to good restaurants: “elegance and finesse, subtlety and creativity” define the Ninth Art. Christophe Roure’s restaurant is worth the detour. With two stars in the Michelin guide since 2015, the restaurant located in Lyon 6th ranks 18th among the 1,000 best restaurants in the world with a score of 91 out of 100.
That is 1.5 points more than last year.
➤ Takao Takano, Lyon 6th
Coming from Japan, Takao Takano offers France one of its best restaurants by succeeding in the mission of “keeping it simple and good”, according to the opinion of the Michelin guide which gives it two stars. Creative and modern French gourmet cuisine, “a great sure value” for our Progrès specialists.
The list gives him 90.50 points, i.e. 19th place in the ranking, Takao Takano is therefore overtaken this year by The ninth Art with whom he was tied in 2023.
