Night train Cortina snow season

Skiing in Cortina, but slowly. On a train, especially at night, a service that has been running for some time has become trendy again. From today, tickets for travel between Rome and Cortina d’Ampezzo on board the new Cadore night train are on sale on the trenitalia.com website. A highly anticipated service, after the cancellation of the Rome – Calalzo service eleven years ago.

The night journey to reach the “Queen of the Dolomites” includes departure from Rome Termini at 9.40pm and arrival in Calalzo at 7.57am, from here with a bus service that leaves directly from the station area you will reach the center of Cortina d’Ampezzo in 50 minutes. The intermediate stops will be in Orte, Orvieto, Treviso, Ponte nelle Alpi and Longarone – Zoldo.

Access on board will be allowed up to 40 minutes before departure, so that you can hand over your luggage to the dedicated staff, including any sports equipment, which will be placed in a special carriage.

Passengers will be able to choose to travel using single or double bed cabins, which also include dinner and breakfast service in the ticket, or 4 or 6-seater berths which can also be reserved entirely for group travel. Furthermore, the restaurant car, with made in Italy products, and the bar service are available to travellers.

The Rome – Cortina connection will be active during every weekend between 15 December 2023 and 25 February 2024, with some additional trips during the Christmas period 18 December – 3 January. Details on dates and costs can be found on fstrenituristici.it.
