Pensions, because quota 103 loses appeal
The Meloni government had decided to exceed Quota 103 with Quota 104. The pressure from the League succeeded in making the executive take another step back, which reneged on the announcement and, in the end, extended the life of the league by 12 months. early exit from work at 62 years of age and 41 years of contributions inaugurated at the beginning of this year and destined, at least on paper, to be short-lived. This was not the case, but on closer inspection it was an apparent victory because if Quota 104 would have been decidedly worse than the old Quota 103, they have planted so many stakes around the new Quota 103 that they have made it lose much of its attractiveness. As, in fact, the Corriere wrote recently, in 2024 Quota 103 will be used by many fewer workers than in 2023 (at the end of October just over 16 thousand applications had been accepted compared to the over 40 thousand that were – erroneously – expected to be forwarded). The main change is given by the calculation of the allowance, which will be entirely contributory, and by the ceiling given to the pension until the seniority limit is reached. So, in 2024, who wants to leave work early is better off with Quota 103 or the ordinary early pension?
