Presidential cabinet convened: Salary raise and bonuses will also be on the table

The Presidential Cabinet convened under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The closed-door meeting in Beştepe started at 15.20.

The latest developments in the economy and new steps taken within the scope of the fight against inflation will be evaluated in the cabinet, and efforts to improve pensions will also be reviewed.

On the other hand, the additional regulation for the 5 thousand lira retirement bonus, which concerns millions of people, is expected to be brought to the agenda at the Cabinet meeting.

Between 11-14 November, 5 thousand lira bonus payments were made to more than 12 million unemployed retirees.

President Erdoğan had instructed to make additional regulations for citizens who are members of the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) and cannot receive retirement bonuses.

The cabinet will also discuss Erdogan’s diplomatic initiatives to stop Israel’s bloody attacks on Gaza. While Erdoğan continues to work to ensure an urgent ceasefire in his meetings with world leaders and during his visits abroad, new steps to be taken in this context will also be discussed. The latest situation regarding anti-terrorism operations will also be discussed at the meeting.

The decisions taken after the cabinet meeting will be announced by President Erdoğan.

TESK requested that retired tradesmen whose tax records have been deleted also benefit from the 5 thousand lira bonus.

Bendevi Palandöken, Chairman of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), stated that retired tradesmen whose tax records have been deleted should also benefit from the 5 thousand lira bonus given to retirees.

In his written statement, Palandöken evaluated the one-time bonus of 5 thousand lira given to non-working retirees.

Drawing attention to the demands of retired tradesmen and craftsmen, Palandöken said:

“Our retired tradesmen and craftsmen, who have canceled their tax registration but are still registered with chambers and who do not actively practice their profession, should also benefit from this right. Our members are a segment of the population who retire by paying the highest premiums out of pocket and receive the lowest pension. Employees with SSK are at most 7 thousand 200.” “While our members retire in 9 thousand days by working 16-18 hours a day and paying the premium out of their pocket. Under these conditions, first of all, this bonus should be given to tradesmen and craftsmen without any discrimination.”
