Novasoie should be established in spring 2025, in Saint-Chamond, on the Novaciéries site, Saint-Étienne Métropole tells us in a press release issued this Monday.
The promise of sale of almost half of the surface area of the old Hall 06 was signed between Cap Métropole (site developer) and the Novasoie project leaders, without the precise date of the act having been communicated.
“Already having two factories in the Loire, one in Saint-Symphorien-de-Lay, the other in Cleppé, the company CGM Holding, specialized in the making and finishing of exceptional textile accessories, working for a large French luxury house, wanted to open a new factory, to meet the growing demand of its customers,” indicates the Métropole, which recalls that Novaciéries is one of its major development and rehabilitation projects, which wants to make it “a mixed and sustainable district, open to the city, and integrating housing, economic activities, a shopping and leisure center, as well as urban development with large green spaces. »
An investment of 3.5 million euros
The Novasoie project represents a real estate investment of 3.5 million euros (between 7 and 8 million for the overall project) with, ultimately, the planned creation of some 150 jobs.
Saint-Étienne Métropole cedes 4,000 of the 8,512 m2 of the former Halle 06 of Novaciéries in Novasoie, which plans the construction of a factory of approximately 2,600 m2.
The redevelopment will be carried out “while preserving the unique heritage aspect of the site such as these industrial halls with giant metal frames or the brick red chimney which, from a height of 100 meters, overlooks the city”, indicates SEM.
Work is scheduled to begin by summer for delivery in spring 2025.
