The State has decided to end the 2024 edition “social leasing”this device allowing the less well-off to access an electric car for 100 euros per month, after having “exceeded” its initial objectives for this year, announced the Élysée.
The operation is renewed for 2025
With more than 50,000 orders that will be honored, the quota will go well beyond the 20,000 to 25,000 vehicles planned as part of this “bonus” open to the most modest French people traveling more than 8,000 km per year.
The decree putting an end to this edition must a priori be published on Tuesday, but the operation will restart at the end of 2024 for the year 2025, specified the presidency, confirming information from the Echoes.
The first car delivered mid-January
“Social leasing”, launched in December 2023, is a rental with purchase option (LOA) system for less than 100 euros per month for city cars, and 150 euros for family cars (excluding insurance and maintenance). Without initial contribution, the rental is planned for three years, renewable once. The State finances each rental to the tune of 13,000 euros.
