The Port Authority of Las Palmas will bring to the board of directors tomorrow a non-substantial modification on the El Muelle shopping center, property of the Divarian investment fund, aimed at extending the term of the committed investments in 2023 and that seek to renovate the property.

The modification comes at a time when the El Muelle Shopping Center is languishing. Open businesses continue to shrink and more and more stores are closed and empty without work to improve them having begun. despite the fact that they were expected to start in 2023 and be completed in 2025.

It was in the summer of 2023 when the Port’s management council gave approval to begin the works to undertake the renovation in a space of 39,000 square meters. An investment of 7.5 million euros is planned in the reform.

The El Muelle shopping center received the construction license in 1998 and since then it has passed through successive hands as a result of the banking restructuring process and as a consequence of the 2008 crisis.

The Port Council will also analyze the resolution of the competition process of the request made by Hamilton for the development of a car silo area. Comsa is also awarded the PIF of Las Palmas.
