San Francisco (Uttam Hindu News): Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on a new feature ‘Favorite Contact Filter’ to provide a better experience to its users. With which users will be able to add their favorite contacts in one section. The new feature, spotted by Webbetainfo, mentions that it will appear in a WhatsApp Web update along with a chat filter.
According to the report, the new feature will allow users to select their favorite contacts and let them manually add the people they want to add. With this filter, users will be able to access it easily. By allowing users to select favorite contacts, the feature also allows them to have conversations so they can easily reach out to them, the report said.
That said, the feature not only simplifies the process of reaching favorite contacts, but also adds a layer of customization, allowing them to make calls and send messages tailored to their preferences.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly preparing to allow third-party messaging apps on its platform ahead of the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which comes into force in March. WhatsApp engineering director Dick Brouwer told Wired that the company is ready to offer interoperability on the platform with more than 2 billion users.
