Far from alone, far from technology and passive spectators in front of the TV: the Italians over 55 they are more and more often ‘active ager‘, unapologetic trendsetters who love to explore the world, pursue their interests and improve themselves, both physically and psychologically. This is what emerges from the first edition of ‘Longevity barometer’observatory created by Cocoonersa platform specializing in services designed for the over 55s, in collaboration with Research Dogma, which, in the second half of October 2023, involved a sample of 207 community users. A segment, that of the over 55s, who, according to a study promoted by Silver Economy Network in collaboration with Assolombardain addition to being worth 27.5% of the GDP, equal to an income of 461.8 billion euros and consumption in the order of 200 billion euros, is in continuous and rapid expansion.

“The founding idea of Cocooners – explains Maurizio De Palma, co-founder and CEO of Cocooners – is to give voice to an increasingly numerous segment of the population but not yet recognized for its value, in economic terms and in terms of lived experiences The extension of the expectation of a healthy life opens up new and unexplored fronts for ‘active agers’. They are active, they travel, they are still useful at work or at home and they want to feel an integral part of societies. Because life no longer has an age “.
