Trieste lights up the future with the sea

ROME – It will be called “Nautaverse“, a kind of “Sea Park 5.0“: an urban development and regeneration project that will enhance Trieste’s link with the sea, from three points of view, culture, science and innovation, complete with socio-economic infrastructure, with a site of attraction for the publicDigital Experience Center (Dec) complete with huge virtual aquarium. Furthermore, it will redevelop an area that has long been degraded and closed. The pole ‘edutainment‘, as it has been defined, will be built in an area owned by the port state property, not far from the center called “Porto Lido” with dilapidated buildings whose demolition began in recent days. It will have an exhibition with scientific and applied research contents and, for the younger ones, educational ones.

The project was designed to become a they drive the city’s economy and also as a place of leisure, a destination for tourists. The area is given in concession, for 40 years, to the company Trieste Navigando Srl, which the Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce recently acquired from Invitalia which owned it. The project involves the construction of a marina and structures serving it. Nautaverso will be highly technological and futuristic with totally digital access methods and activation of facial recognition, as well as interaction with visitors via remote connection. Obviously, it will be environmentally sustainable and will not only aim for return on investment, but will be aligned with the criteria ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). The promoters are convinced that this socio-economic infrastructure will be able to easily reach the break-even point
