TURKSTAT: Retail sales increased in December

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the retail sales indices for December.

Retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 11.4 percent in December compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 8.7 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 16.9 percent, and automotive fuel sales decreased by 5.1 percent.

RETAIL SALES VOLUME INCREASED BY 1.7 PERCENT MONTHLY

Retail sales volume at constant prices increased by 1.7 percent in December compared to the previous month. In the same month, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 0.3 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 2.3 percent, and automotive fuel sales increased by 1.8 percent.

RETAIL TURNOVER INCREASED BY 80.0 PERCENT

Retail turnover at current prices increased by 80.0 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the same month, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 78.8 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 85.1 percent, and automotive fuel sales increased by 62.9 percent.

MONTHLY TURNOVER INCREASE 4.3 PERCENT

Retail turnover at current prices increased by 4.3 percent in December compared to the previous month. In the same month, food, beverage and tobacco sales increased by 4.1 percent, non-food sales (excluding automotive fuel) increased by 5.0 percent, and automotive fuel sales increased by 1.9 percent.
