We are looking for a job for ages 7 to 70 – Breaking economic news – Sözcü

The economic crisis pushed all citizens from 7 to 70 into poverty. Young people between the ages of 15-19 in education and citizens over the age of 60 in retirement age are chasing jobs at the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR).

According to the 10-month data of 2023, 112 thousand 117 young people between the ages of 15-19 are waiting for a job from İŞKUR. 15 thousand 359 people between the ages of 60-64 and 5 thousand 721 people over the age of 65 applied for a job at İŞKUR. According to İŞKUR data, 88 thousand 174 people between the ages of 15-19 were placed in jobs in the first 10 months of 2023. In the January-October period, 5 thousand 533 people between the ages of 60-64 got a job. 1,587 people over the age of 65 found jobs through İŞKUR.
THEY COULD NOT RECEIVE ALLOWANCE
While the number of people aged 15-19 who applied for unemployment benefits was 8 thousand 722, only 462 of them deserved unemployment benefits. The number of applications for unemployment benefits between the ages of 60-64 was 4 thousand 695. Of these, 2 thousand 472 were able to benefit from unemployment benefits. While 1,081 citizens over the age of 65 applied for unemployment benefits, the demands of 598 were met.
Among the 2 million 519 thousand 163 people registered with İŞKUR, the most job seekers are secondary school graduates and 923 thousand 832 secondary school graduates are waiting for a job. The number of associate degree graduates looking for a job through İŞKUR was 312 thousand 527. The number of bachelor’s degree graduates was determined as 305 thousand 152, the number of master’s degree graduates was 13 thousand 525 and the number of unemployed people with doctorates was 644.
