Many workers at SASA Polyester in Adana staged a work stoppage, citing low salaries.
Dozens of workers left their jobs and waited in the SASA garden.
Workers stated that the strike will continue until their salaries are increased.
Erdemoğlu Holding made a statement regarding the issue. It was stated that an agreement was reached with the workers regarding the wage increases.
In the statement made by the company, the following was stated:
“As SASA, approximately 9 thousand assembly teams work in the assembly of our PTA, Fiber, Chips and Low Melt Fiber facilities. There was a problem with the wage increases in one of the subcontractor companies with 300 employees, and there was a session for one day due to their dislike of the wage increases. SASA management stepped in. This problem has been solved. The employees of this subcontractor company return to work and continue their work.
In our PTA facility with an annual production capacity of 1,750,000 tons, which we plan to start production in the second half of 2024, in our Fiber facility with an annual capacity of 367,000 tons, which will be operational in the third quarter of 2024, in our chips facility with an annual capacity of 330,000 tons, which will be operational in the third quarter of 2024, 9 thousand of our colleagues work day and night in the assembly of our Low Melt Fiber facilities with an annual capacity of 52,500 tons. “We wish success to all our employees and thank them for their work.”
