New Delhi : Apple’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Along with this, he expressed commitment regarding his expansion and investment in India. Tim Cook has come on a tour of India after almost 7 years. Earlier, he had visited India in 2016. In a tweet, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a picture of his meeting with the Prime Minister, saying that Apple shares his vision of the positive impact of technology on India’s future. Apple CEO Tim Cook said in his tweet that thanks to the Prime Minister for the warm welcome. We are committed to expand and invest across India.

Describing the meeting with Apple CEO Tick Cook as pleasant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet that it was a pleasure to exchange views with you on various issues. There was also a discussion on the vast changes taking place in India on the basis of technology. This was Cook’s second meeting with Modi as CEO of Apple. Prior to this, he had met the Prime Minister during his visit to India in the year 2016 as well.

Tim Cook to inaugurate Apple Store in Delhi

Tim Cook has come to Delhi to inaugurate Apple’s first store in the national capital. On Thursday, he will be present at the inauguration of the Apple Store in Saket, Delhi. Earlier, he inaugurated Apple’s first store in India in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Apple will compete with China

Tim Cook’s visit to India is considered important in the sense that Apple is now trying to increase its presence in India. As the world’s second largest smartphone market, India can play a similar role for Apple as China has played for the past 15 years. Apple is trying to move its supply activities out of China and India can play an important role in this.
