BAU’s Millets expert Dr. Arun Kumar said that there should be provision of budget on millets research, while Assistant Professor cum Scientist Dr. Nandani Kumari says that budget allocation, subsidy and insurance should be increased for small entrepreneurs and livestock farmers.
Budget provision should be made to help agricultural startups
Birsa Agricultural University K BPD (Business Planning and Development Unit) CEO Siddharth Jaiswal said that there should be a provision in the budget for a long-term scheme for cooperation in agricultural startups. There should be a separate budget provision for the promotion and startup of natural farming. There should be a provision to support startups of Desi Cow, Desi Beej and Panchgavya Chikitsa. In this context, there is a need to focus on long term vision. The most important thing is that the method of applying to take advantage of them should be very simple, so that common farmers can take advantage of it.
There should be provision of budget on millets research
BAU’s Millets expert Dr. Arun Kumar said that there should be a provision in the budget regarding primary processing machines for the farmers. Not only this, there should be budgetary provision for value addition. The attitude of the central government regarding millets (coarse grains) is very positive. The year 2023 has been declared as Millets Year. The Jharkhand government should also make provision in the budget for millets. There should be provision of budget on millets research in the central budget.
Budget allocation increased for small entrepreneurs and cattle herders
Dr. Nandani Kumari, Assistant Professor cum Scientist, Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics at BAU’s Ranchi Veterinary College, says that budget allocation, subsidy and risk incentive or insurance should be increased for small entrepreneurs and cattle herders. More schemes should be proposed and for this awareness should be increased with the initiative of block level workers and veterinary officers, so that poor illiterate tribals can take advantage of it. More quality research in animal husbandry should be encouraged. A1 & A2 milk and all such products should be encouraged. These include indigenous cow breed as it can be a boost for dairy farmers in India. That’s why there should be special research on A2 milk to prove the role of indigenous cattle. Veterinary research abroad should be encouraged through MoUs with foreign universities and post doctorates.
