Conad donates over 1.7 million euros to 27 Italian hospitals to support pediatric departments

Conad announced the donation of over 1.7 million euros to 27 Italian hospitalsthanks to the solidarity collecting initiative “A fairytale collection” active in Conad stores from October to December 2023.

The initiative, carried out in collaboration with GOOFI by Eganclaims i pediatric departments of the territory thanks to the precious contribution of Conad customers, holders of Carta Insieme and Carta Insieme Più Conad Card, who supported the initiative by purchasing products from the line of GOOFI Christmas subjects, inspired by fairy tale characters, made of plastic (ABS) 100 % recycled.

In fact, for every product sold in stores throughout Italy, Conad donates 50 cents to hospitals to finance pediatric projects, giving a concrete hand to those who work every day to make the lives of all hospitalized children as peaceful as possible and with the necessary medical equipment.

“We are proud to have given our contribution to hospitals and pediatric departments throughout Italy, confirming the fact that even small gestures, if done all together, can make a difference for the future of communities,” he commented Francesco Avanzini, General Director of Conad. “We thank our customers, the Cooperatives and the Members for the generosity shown and for making this initiative possible, fully in line with our sustainability strategy and with our philosophy of service to the Communities, demonstrating once again that we are People beyond things”.

This initiative is part of a Conad project launched at the end of 2021 to support hospitals active with pediatric projects throughout Italy: in the last three years Conad has donated over 5.8 million euros in this area.

The commitment dedicated to sustainable partnerships and, in particular, to loyalty initiatives to support people and communities, is part of Conad’s major sustainability project “We support the future”based on three fundamental dimensions: respect for the environment, attention to people and communities, valorization of the entrepreneurial fabric and of the Italian territory.
