New Delhi : In Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party government, Finance Minister Kailash Gehlot presented the Delhi Economic Review in the Assembly on Monday. According to the Economic Survey, per capita income at current prices in Delhi has increased to Rs 3,89,529 in 2021-22 from Rs 3,31,112 in 2020-21. Further, as per the advance estimates, Delhi’s per capita income at current prices during 2022-23 will be Rs 4,44,768, which is 14.18 per cent higher than the previous fiscal.

9.18 percent growth in GDP in 2022-23

The Economic Survey tabled in the Assembly states that Delhi’s per capita income has always been around 2.6 per cent higher than the national average. The Economic Survey further states that economic activity in Delhi has improved much faster than the national level. Delhi’s real gross domestic product (GDP) has increased by 9.14 per cent and 9.18 per cent in 2021-22 and 2022-23. It was told in the review that the tax collection of the Delhi government also increased by 36 percent during 2021-22. Due to the Kovid-19 epidemic in 2020-21, it had decreased by 19.53 percent.

Highest allocation expected in health and education

At the same time, it is being said that the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi can allocate the maximum amount for the education and health sector in the general budget of the financial year 2023-24. In the budget for the financial year 2022-23, the highest amount of Rs 16,278 crore was approved for the education sector, which was slightly less than the previous year’s Rs 16,377 crore. At the same time, Rs 9,769 crore was approved for the health sector in 2022-23, while Rs 9,934 crore was allocated last year.

Teachers and officers will get tab

According to officials, new tablets can be provided to all regular, invited and contractual teachers, vice-principals and principals of government schools in Delhi in the budget. Delhi government’s budget for 2023-24 could be Rs 80,000 crore. The budget for the financial year 2022-23 was Rs 75,800 crore while the budget for 2021-22 was Rs 69,000 crore. Delhi’s Finance Minister Kailash Gehlot will present the budget for 2023-24 on March 21 and before that the government’s result budget will come. The CBI has arrested Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged scam in the Delhi Excise Policy. After that Gehlot has been given his charge.
