Telephone scammers are trying to apply for loans and microloans through the largest financial marketplace Banki.ru, a source said. TASS in the cybersecurity industry. To do this, criminals convince victims to dictate a code from an SMS to them. The service is aware of a new fraud scheme.

In the new scheme, scammers report a letter from the MFC by phone. To be convincing, the real address of the center is given. The criminal offers to send a letter to the post office at the place of registration and asks to dictate the item number from the SMS. In fact, this is a registration confirmation code for the Banki.ru service.

After receiving the information, the fraudster can apply for a loan, explained Diana Selekhina, an expert at the Solar AURA center for monitoring external digital threats of the Solar group of companies. To confirm identity, a criminal can use personal data that previously could have ended up on the darknet.

The Banki.ru service noted that they “pay special attention to the information security of users and are constantly improving technology, and also always inform their users that the code from SMS cannot be shared with anyone.” The company noted that employees never ask to confirm transfers, payments and receipt of money on the card; they do not ask for card numbers, bank details or code words and do not call through instant messengers such as WhatsApp, Telegram or Viber. If you have doubts that it is a Banki.ru employee who is calling, you can ask him for an internal number. You can check it on the website in the “Support Service” tab.
