French subsidiary Auchan sold Russian assets – Kommersant

The French company Ceetrus, part of the Auchan structure, has closed a deal to sell its Russian assets, it was reported RBC. The new owner of the Russian “Sitras” was the company “Trading Galleries”.

Sitras owns and manages shopping malls; in Russia the company has over 150 sq. m of retail space. The company operates 40 shopping centers and galleries in Russia. In particular, the Akvarel shopping malls in Pushkin, Volgograd and Togliatti near Moscow, as well as Troika in Moscow. According to Vedomosti, the company also owns the checkout areas of Auchan hypermarkets.

According to the Unified State Register, from April 12, the owner of Sitras became Trade Galleries, whose main owner through Kama Capital JSC and Kama Capital Management Company is Tagir Robertovch Shaimardanov, who worked in the law firm Shaimardanov, Yalilov and Sabitov (current name “Shaimardanov and Sabitov”, the managing partner is lawyer Robert Shaimardanov). The preliminary purchase and sale agreement was concluded in October 2023, and at the end of 2023 permission was received from the FAS. On March 25, the transaction was certified by a notary.

Kama Capital was registered last summer. Its owner is 23-year-old Tagir Shaimardanov, who owns the Outlet Central and Outlet North-West companies. According to RBC, structures have been created to purchase Hines outlets in Kotelniki near Moscow and on Pulkovskoye Highway in St. Petersburg. Mr. Shaimardanov, through Kama Capital, also directly controls BC on Voikovskaya.

In December 2023, Izvestia, citing a letter from Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, reported that the Ministry of Industry and Trade saw the risks of Auchan retail chains leaving Russia. The retailer has been operating in Russia since 2002. After the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, the general director of the French company, Yves Claude, said that Auchan would continue to operate in Russia, as it works for the civilian population.
