Decreased by 2% in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region

Home prices in Delhi-NCR rose 16% to Rs 8,432 per sq ft, in Pune jumped 11% to Rs 8,352 per sq ft. However, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, prices declined by two per cent to Rs 19,219 per sq ft. As per the data, housing prices in Ahmedabad increased by 11% to Rs 6,324 per sq ft during January-March this year. Prices in Bengaluru rose by 14% to Rs 8,748 per sq ft, while those in Chennai saw a marginal increase of 4% to Rs 7,395 per sq ft.

Why the rates of Delhi-NCR increased

The report states that home prices in Delhi-NCR have been rising continuously for the last 11 quarters. Housing prices in Golf Course Road, Gurugram have increased by 42 per cent year-on-year. Housing prices on Golf Course Road are among the highest in the NCR region. Houses here have become costlier than Delhi. Rates on Dwarka Expressway increased by 59 per cent. The main reason for this is the opening of the Central Peripheral Road and the loop connecting the Dwarka Expressway to the National Highway-8.

Similarly, housing property prices in Ahmedabad increased by 11 per cent to Rs 6,324 per sq ft during January-March this year. Prices in Bengaluru rose by 14 per cent to Rs 8,748 per sq ft, while in Chennai it rose marginally by four per cent to Rs 7,395 per sq ft. Housing property prices in Hyderabad rose by 13 per cent to Rs 10,410 per sq ft and in Kolkata by 15 per cent to Rs 7,211 per sq ft.
