Stock Market Closing Bell: The ups and downs continued throughout the day in the Indian stock market. However, after 1 pm, the market established a bullish trend which continued till the market closed. Till the closing bell, the Sensex was at 72,091.61 with a rise of 0.37 percent or 268.78 points. Whereas, Nifty closed at 21,927.35 with a gain of 0.40 percent or 87.90 points.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, BPCL, Power Grid, ONGC, NTPC, State Bank of India, Coal India, HDFC Bank and Asian Paints were among the top gainers on Nifty.

Shares of Axis Bank, ITC, Apollo Hospital, Hindustan Unilever, Britannia and Nestle India were among the top losers.

Today, special growth was seen in PSU banks and oil and gas related companies in the market.
What was the condition of the sectors?
Amidst the turmoil in the market, Nifty PSU Bank index was seen. Greenery was seen in most of the indices of Sensex and Nifty. Nifty PSU Bank index jumped 3.19 percent or 221 points to reach 7,155.15. At the same time, the auto index rose by 1.36 percent or 267 points to reach 19,983.9. Apart from this, a rise was seen in Reality, Bank, Financial Services, IT, Metal along with Oil and Gas on Nifty. Whereas, losses were seen in FMCG, Pharma and Healthcare indices.

This morning, domestic markets opened with a positive trend in early trade. BSE’s 30-share index Sensex rose 115.89 points or 0.16 per cent to 71,938.72, while Nifty rose 36.90 points or 0.17 per cent to 21,876.95. Among Sensex companies, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, Tata Steel, Wipro and Infosys were in profit while shares of Reliance Industries and Maruti Suzuki declined marginally. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) on Wednesday Net sale of shares worth Rs 3,929.60 crore.
