Infosys Chairman Mohit Joshi resigns, Tech Mahindra appointed MD & CEO

Bangalore/Mumbai (Best Hindu News): The board of Tech Mahindra, a leading provider of digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering services and solutions, on Saturday announced the nomination of Mohit Joshi as MD and CEO of Tech Mahindra. This announcement has been made after the resignation of Mohit Joshi, chairman of the tech giant Infosys.

Infosys in its official communication to the stock exchange said that Joshi will be on leave and his last date with the company will be June 9.

Joshi will take over as the MD and CEO of Tech Mahindra upon the retirement of CP Gurnani on December 19, 2023. He will join Tech Mahindra before that date to allow sufficient transition time.

Tech Mahindra NRC President TN Manoharan said Mohit’s appointment is the successful culmination of a rigorous selection process during which the NRC evaluated several internal and external candidates. Mohit’s experience with digital transformation, new technologies and large deals will complement Tech Mahindra’s strategies and continue to build on the strong growth momentum demonstrated by the company.

Mohit Joshi has over two decades of experience in the enterprise technology software and consulting space and has worked with the world’s largest corporations driving digital transformation and building thriving businesses.

Infosys sources claimed that his absence would create a void in the company. Joshi had joined Infosys in 2000 and worked with the firm in a number of capacities.

He was playing a key role in Infosys with respect to financial services, healthcare and life sciences businesses. Infosys management tried its best to retain him but the efforts were not successful.

Joshi handled Infosys’ internal technology and applications portfolio. He led a financial services business in Europe. In 2007, he was appointed as the CEO of Infosys Mexico and played a role in setting up the first subsidiary in Latin America.

At Infosys, he was the head of the Global Financial Services & Healthcare and Software businesses, which included Finacle (banking platform) and the AI/automation portfolio.
