LUKOIL (MOEX: LKOH) plans to return to operation the AVT-6 and catalytic cracking units at the Nizhny Novgorod Refinery in the second quarter of this year after the completion of the spring repair campaign. A source in the company told Kommersant about this. The plant, with a capacity of 17 million tons, is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in Russia.
The catalytic cracking unit was temporarily shut down in January due to a process incident. As Rostechnadzor clarified, the reason for its decommissioning was a malfunction of a compressor part. Because of this the company reduced oil refining in January by almost 8%.
March 12, the largest oil refinery unit for primary oil refining AVT-6 suffered as a result of a drone attack.
Another incident after the fall of a downed drone on February 4 occurred at another LUKOIL plant in Volgograd. As a result of the fire, the installation for the primary preparation of raw materials ELOU AVT-5 was damaged. As a Kommersant source at the oil company reported, its operation was restored in a short time, and already on February 21 the facility was put into operation and is operating normally at its designed capacity.
The refining volume of LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka is more than 14 million tons of oil per year.
