Russian industry was able to go through the acute phase of external pressure with almost no losses. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov during a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the heads of Russian manufacturing enterprises.

“We managed to get through the acute phase of external pressure with virtually no losses,” said He.

Manturov noted that the manufacturing industry is one of the largest sectors of the economy. In this regard, he noted the need to pay “worthy attention” to this industry.

At the beginning of the meeting, Putin said that in general the situation in the manufacturing industry is “stable, stable.” According to him, employment in this industry remains at the same level as in 2021 – about 10 million people (14% of all employed in the economy). The salaries of employees are also on the rise. In May, it exceeded 69,000 rubles, the head of state specified.

Putin added that these two factors indicate that “Russian industry is gaining momentum.” According to the results of the first six months of 2023, the growth of the manufacturing industries amounted to 6.2%, he said.

Formerly Putin saidthat the development and modernization of industry remains an “unconditional priority” for Russia. At the end of June, the head of state informedthat in May the growth of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.8%. According to him, this indicator was achieved not only at the expense of enterprises of the military-industrial complex (DIC), but also due to related industries. Putin called the announced figures “a good result.”
