The market capitalization of State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 37,617.24 crore to Rs 5,47,971.17 crore. Infosys’ share increased by Rs 15,916.92 crore to Rs 6,18,663.93 crore. However, the market valuation of Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 9,844.79 crore to Rs 5,92,414.19 crore and that of Bharti Airtel declined by Rs 8,569.98 crore to Rs 5,61,896.90 crore. The capitalization of ITC also declined by Rs 935.48 crore to Rs 5,60,223.61 crore. With this, Reliance Industries remains at the position of the most valuable company in the country. After this there are TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Bharti Airtel, ITC, SBI and LIC.
Foreign investment increased again in the market
Due to India’s strengthening economy and the ongoing boom in the stock market, foreign investors have once again started investing in the country. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have invested Rs 26,505 crore in Indian equity markets in the first six trading sessions of this month. This is believed to be the effect of BJP’s election victory in three states and strong economic figures. Earlier in October, FPI had made a net investment of Rs 9,000 crore. Depository data shows that foreign investors had withdrawn Rs 39,300 crore from Indian markets in August and September.
