In Russia, the grain harvest in 2023 reached 147 million tons. First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut announced this at the plenary meeting of the Siberian Agrarian Week.

The indicator includes harvest in new regions of the Russian Federation. Lut noted that taking into account the planned volumes of grain harvest, 65 million tons can be exported. At the same time, for the next year, the Ministry of Agriculture set a quota for grain exports from Russia in the amount of 24 million tons.

“We focused the port in Vysotsk specifically on the export of grain from Siberia – this is very important. Accordingly, Siberia will be focused on Vysotsk, on the Baltic, and when China opens, we will go through the Trans-Baikal Territory and will provide for China. Our potential for this season is 65 million tons,” said Lut.

Previously, Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev predicted export volume of 65 million tons. At the end of October, it was planned that the grain harvest in net weight would be 140 million tons.

“This will be the second result in the history of the country, which will provide the domestic market and will allow us to fully fulfill our export obligations,” Patrushev said.

In 2022, the grain harvest in Russia amounted to 153.8 million tons, in 2021 – 121.4 million tons, in 2020 – 133.5 million tons.
