Mumbai: Some 54 percent of employees say they prefer opportunities for career advancement to staying in their current jobs, even if pay is an important issue. This conclusion has been drawn in a survey. According to the report, based on a survey by professional networking platform Apna.co, about 37 percent of employees surveyed cited a sense of accomplishment or independence, while 21 percent expressed interest in international assignments or work-related travel.
About 54 percent of the respondents considered opportunities for career advancement as important. 44 per cent emphasized the importance of organizational work culture. The report highlights the evolving aspirations and priorities of professionals in today’s dynamic job market, said Nimat Parikh, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Apna.co.
A significant section of professionals wish to remain in their organization, driven primarily by factors such as career advancement opportunities, work culture and desire for skill development. The report is based on an online survey among 10,000 professionals across sectors and across the country to understand the emerging dynamics of the job market ahead of the upcoming appraisal season (April-March).
