Mumbai: US stock markets closed sharply on Wednesday due to strong economic data. Its effect was also visible in the Asian markets today. Most of the Asian markets are trading with an uptick. Domestic stock markets also opened with a boom. The maximum growth was seen in the IT and real estate sectors. At 11:20 am, the BSE Sensex gained 0.55% to reach 61,612 points. The Nifty 50 index also rose by 0.56% to 18,117 points. Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and HCL Technologies were the biggest gainers in the Sensex, while Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever and Nestle India India) had the biggest decline.

Tech Mahindra remained on top in Sensex stocks. It gained more than five percent. It has gained about 12 per cent in the last two sessions.
