Petrol prices, increase since October: here is the map of the increases

TURIN. Fuel prices are heating up again with petrol reaching €1.911 per litre, the highest since 19 October. Codacons calculates that a full tank costs 7.3 euros more than at the beginning of the year while Assoutenti underlines that on the motorway it reaches peaks of 2.5 euros for the green light when served with repercussions. The National Consumers Union speaks of a blow with risks for inflation, so much so that according to Coldiretti the entire agri-food system is the one to lose out. And the opposition is asking Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to cut excise duties.

After the oil rally and the increase in international prices of refined products as well, the average price of petrol in self-service mode is 1.911 euros per liter compared to 1.9 previously, with fluctuations between 1.906 and 1.928 euros per liter depending on the companies (no logo 1,897). As for ‘do it yourself’ diesel, the average price is 1.811 euros per liter (1.803 the previous figure). On the served basis, petrol reaches 2.048 euros per liter (from 2.037) and diesel at 1.951 euros (against 1.943). LPG travels between 0.723 and 0.741 euros per liter and car methane from 1.308 to 1.414 euros per kilogram. Codacons estimates that compared to the last week of December 2023, today a liter of green in self mode costs on average 8.3% more, while diesel has increased in price by around 5% therefore +176 euros per year per driver assuming two full tanks a month. «Increases that will weigh on the occasion of the departures of Italians for the next long weekends of April 25th and May 1st», observes the association. Coldiretti warns of price increases for “the entire agri-food system, where logistics costs account for around a third of the total costs for fruit and vegetables”. The surge in fuel prices is “very bad news” says Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union, speaking of “a spring shock”.

For petrol in self-service mode, the UNC indicates Bolzano as the worst autonomous province (1,946 euros), followed by Basilicata (1,936) and Calabria (1,935); the most virtuous instead are Marche (1,886) and Veneto (1,893)
