If this announcement is made by the government, then women farmers will receive Rs 12,000 every year in their account from the central government. At present, Rs 6000 is being given annually by the government to the farmers across the country as Samman Nidhi.
Announcement of doubling the Samman Nidhi may be made soon
Reuters has published news quoting sources in which it has been said that the central government will soon PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Can announce doubling. It has been said in the news that Modi government can make this announcement to woo women voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. According to this report quoting sources, this may be announced in the interim budget to be presented on February 1. This decision of the government will bring an additional burden of about Rs 12 thousand crores.
Only 13 percent women own land
At present there are 26 crore farmers in the country who are a huge vote bank. According to government figures, the number of women in the country’s population of 142 crore is approximately 60 percent. But, only 13 percent are land owners. This is the reason why even after doubling the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the government will not see any significant difference.
This scheme was started in February 2019

This scheme was started on 24 February 2019. Under this scheme, small and marginal farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year.
