RBI review meeting from Wednesday, pause on rate hike likely to remain – Dainik Savera Times

New Delhi: Regarding the review meeting of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) going to be held this week, there is a broad perception in the market that the policy interest rate (Repo) will be maintained at the current level but the central bank will inject additional cash into the market to control inflation. Will not hesitate to take measures to reduce the flow. The three-day bi-monthly review meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the RBI is starting on Wednesday, October 4 and Garvan Shaktikanta Das of Rivers Bank will announce the findings and decisions of the meeting on October 6 in Mumbai.

Due to inflation still remaining high especially in Western countries and the rise in the international market of crude oil and commodities, the policy stance of the US Central Bank Federal Reserve remains strict. Despite this, it is expected that RBI will continue the process of increasing interest rates so that there is no negative impact on economic growth.

Shriram Finance Ltd Executive Vice President Umesh Revankar said that RBI will maintain a pause on increasing the policy interest rate for some time. He said that since the last review, due to continued monsoon activity, the rainfall deficit has reduced slightly compared to the long-term average. Along with this, prices of essential food items are also under control, but there are still concerns regarding Kharif crops, especially pulses, and this may create pressure to increase prices.
