Restoration: the 29th edition of the Show returns to Ferrara as a protagonist

It is the sector’s reference event on a global level, the first and only event in Italy and this year too it will enliven the city of Ferrara including stands, workshops, exhibitions, conferences and round tables. Reached his 29th editionThe International Restoration Exhibitionwill return as protagonist from May 15th to 17th with an exhibition area and a training program that will focus on the latest trends and the most current scenarios, offering full representativeness to the different sectors involved.

There will be companies specialized in the restoration of artistic, historical and archaeological assets, in conservative and consolidation restoration, as well as companies that produce or distribute materials, machines, equipment and solutions for the preservation of cultural heritage. Cutting-edge technologies, instruments and diagnostics will be widely represented, highlighting the importance of scientific research also in this specific area.

The event will be a showcase for a range of interconnected services, such as security and systems, cleaning and restoration of surfaces, lighting engineering, multimedia and software. “The Salon, acting as a place for meeting, studying and exchanging knowledge and knowledge, will be a showcase for Italian excellence in restoration, a discipline, a profession of the highest value, recognized at an international level – declares Andrea Morettipresident of Ferrara Expo – It is our belief that Restauro can increasingly realize its growth potential, on an international level, in terms of exhibition presence and with events and meetings with strong resonance”.

Educational laboratories, institutes, museums, training bodies, research and cataloging centres, together with public and private bodies dedicated to the environment, protection and recovery will be an integral part of the Show, demonstrating the commitment of the entire national territory in enhancing the sector. The Restauro 2024 training proposal will delve into current topics, such as innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and energy efficiency. And more news, quality of materials, software and BIM, plant engineering, all elements that will provide a complete view on the challenges and trends that are characterizing the world of restoration.

Among the confirmed initiatives, the round tables on the scenarios and prospects of restoration in the Third Millennium and the conference on Made in Italy restoration, its prospects for the future and its significant ability to influence trends and customs in Europe stand out. Of close relevance, the workshop dedicated to the role of lighting in the enjoyment of works of art and the conferences on the safety of structures and infrastructures and on the importance of diagnostic investigations. Key role of the event is played byAdvisory Boarda technical-operational working group established in 2023 and composed of the main protagonists of the cultural heritage supply chain.

The 2024 edition of Restauro, like all previous ones, counts on the presence of the MIC, which will bring to the fair a program of activities dedicated to the most interesting themes and projects regarding cultural heritage and their use, in addition to the historic partnership with Assorestauro. Thanks to the consolidated and close synergy with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with the ICE Agency, the Show will welcome international delegations from all over the world. Also scheduled is a conference dedicated to the Restitutions project, in which, through the stories of the restorers themselves, the results of some of the interventions carried out in the latest editions of the restoration program curated and managed for over 30 years by Intesa Sanpaolo, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the ministerial bodies responsible for safeguarding works of national heritage.
