The document regulates the construction and operation of a gas pipeline across the Ussuri River near the cities of Dalnerechensk in Russia and Hulin in China. According to it, the end point of the “Far East route” will be in the city of Hulin.

Gazprom will be the only Russian company that will be able to supply gas through the gas pipeline. On the Chinese side, the pipeline will be operated and maintained by the China National Pipeline Corporation (CNPC). They will also be involved in the construction of the gas pipeline.

Last year, Russia significantly increased gas supplies to China against the backdrop of a reduction in gas supplies to the European Union. By data Chinese customs, the volume of funds received by Russia for the supply of pipeline gas to China from January to November 2022 increased by 177% year-on-year, to $3.5 billion.
