Sausage manufacturer: Pfeifer & Langen is allowed to take over Rügenwalder Mühle

The Cologne-based food group Pfeifer & Langen is allowed to become the new majority owner of the Sausage manufacturer Rügenwalder Mühle become. The takeover plans became known at the end of November. At that time, Pfeifer & Langen did not provide any information about the costs of the transaction. The group assured that Rügenwalder Mühle would be retained as a brand and company. A company spokesman told the dpa news agency at the time that no job cuts were planned. The previous management of the manufacturer of sausage and vegan substitute products will also remain in office.

Rügenwalder Mühle was founded in 1834 in Rügenwalde, Pomerania, which is now the Polish town of Darłowo. After the Second World War, the company moved its headquarters to Lower Saxony. The company employs around 1,000 people.

Since the end of 2014, Rügenwalder Mühle has specialized not only in sausage production but also in the production of vegetarian and vegan substitute products and is now one of the best-known manufacturers in this area.

A manufacturer of meat substitute products, now renamed Endori, has been part of Pfeifer & Langen since 2021. After the takeover of Rügenwalder Mühle, both brands would be continued, shared the companies in November 2023.
