Slow start of Indian stock market

Share Market Opening: The Indian stock market has had a sluggish start on the fourth trading day of the week. Both Sensex and Nifty have fallen in preopening. However, in the global market, Gift Nifty seems to be trading 70 points above. At 9.20 am, Sensex is trading at 72,587.73, down 0.049 percent or 35.37 points. Whereas, Nifty is seen falling by 0.054 percent i.e. 11.90 points at 22,043.15. Bombay Stock Exchange Shares of 15 companies in the 30-share Sensex are trading in profit. Whereas, shares of 15 companies are trading with red mark. Shares of Axis Bank, HCL Technology, TCS, L&T and Wipro have been included in the category of top gainers on this index. Whereas, Asian Paint, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid and Bajaj Finserv have joined the category of top losers.

What is the condition of the sectors?

Red mark is visible in most of the sectors on Nifty. PSU Bank is seen falling 0.81 percent or 58.15 points at 7,085.60. Along with this, decline is being seen in Bank, FMCG, Financial Services, Media, Pharma and Oil & Gas. A decline is being seen in Nifty Private Bank. Auto, IT, metal and reality sectors were trading in the green. Midcap and small cap are also seen under pressure in the market.

The bullish trend that had been going on in the stock markets for the last six trading sessions came to an end on Wednesday and the BSE Sensex fell by 434 points. The market remained in loss due to profit booking before the end of trading amidst mixed trend globally. The Sensex based on 30 shares remained strong during trading but finally closed at 72,623.09 points with a fall of 434.31 points or 0.59 percent. At one time during trading it had reached a low of 72,450.56 points. Similarly, Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 22,055.05 points with a decline of 141.90 points or 0.64 percent. Nifty, based on fifty shares, strengthened on Tuesday and closed at an all-time high of 22,196.95 points. Among the companies included in Sensex, 20 remained in loss. Whereas 37 shares of Nifty remained in loss.
