The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia announced that it had approved the logo of the national digital currency – the digital ruble. The regulator also set tariffs for operations with digital rubles, which can be carried out using digital wallets in banking mobile applications.
The digital ruble logo is a ruble sign in a circle in coral-scarlet and white colors. On the one hand, this repeats the shape of an ordinary coin, on the other hand, it echoes the logo of the Central Bank, it says in the message on the regulator’s website.
The Bank of Russia approved the following tariffs for operations with digital rubles:
- Payments and transfers of digital rubles for citizens will be free;
- the tariff for businesses for accepting payments for goods and services in digital rubles will be 0.3% of the payment amount (but not more than 1.5 thousand rubles);
- the tariff for companies providing housing and communal services will be 0.2%, but not more than 10 rubles;
- commission for transfers between legal entities – 15 rubles. for the operation.
The law on the digital ruble was submitted to the State Duma at the end of last year. It was assumed that the pilot project of banks on the use of real digital rubles will begin in February. However, in the first reading, the law was adopted only in mid-March, and by the second it had undergone major changes. The final version of the law, President Vladimir Putin signed July 24th.
