Agreement made between the Coops and the unions for the renewal of the contract of the cooperative distribution employees. Announcing the signature are Ancc-Coop, Confcooperative consumers and users, Agci consumer sector and the Filcams-Cgil, Fisascat-Cisl and Uiltucs unions.

The agreement – explains a note from the Coop – concerns the over 60 thousand workers in the segment: it will be valid until March 2027 and provides for a salary increase of 240 euros gross at the fourth level and a one-off allowance of 350 euros re-measured and re-proportioned for all positions.

The text provides “rules aimed at increasing the protections provided by the laws in force, with the increase in paternity permits” to improve gender equality and support parenting. Again, it is explained, “new rules are coming in to facilitate new mothers the choice to spend the entire first year of life with your child, a financial incentive for the father who decides to take the optional leave in place of the mother, facilitations for family reunification and assisted fertilization. Furthermore, leaves and benefits have been introduced for women victims of violence” –

Interventions also for those who find themselves facing a oncological diseasewith one month of paid leave at the end of the period of duty.

On the welfare front, there is an increase in the contribution of a further 36 euros per year per worker aimed at consolidating and improving healthcare services.

“We are satisfied with the agreement, it is the most demanding national labor contract of the last 30 years: it will allow an important recovery of the purchasing power of cooperative workers, in a phase of great economic uncertainty, inflation and energy increases – is the comment of Marco PedroniPresident of Ancc-Coop (National Association of Consumer Cooperatives) – The agreement ensures graduality in the dynamics of labor costs for cooperative businesses in the coming years, therefore within a framework of economic sustainability”.
